Pink Dinosaur Birthday Party

There is no doubt that dinosaurs are a popular party theme for kid’s birthday parties. Dinosaurs seem to span all age groups and provide an opportunity for fun dinosaur themed games and entertainment no matter the age. Today, I’m walking you through how I would plan a pink dinosaur themed birthday party. While I’m focusing on shades of pink here, you could easily take these same plans and change the colors to fit your preference.

Pink Dinosaur Birthday Party Decor

Honeycomb Dinosaur Figurines

I love these little honeycomb dinosaurs. This 12 piece pack includes a selection of dinosaurs plus a couple other accents that can be used in the center of the table or around your house as decor. I would use them on the dessert table, cake table and down the center of your dining table.

Life Size Balloon Number

I love this giant life sized (3 ft.) balloon filled number. It would be fun for photos and look great next to the dessert table or by your front door if hosting the party at home.

Happy Birthday Sign

This happy birthday sign is adorable with the pink dinosaurs and would look cute on a blank wall next to the balloon number or hanging above the gift or dessert table.

Palm Fronds

I would use these palm fronds in place of floral centerpieces. There are only eight in a pack so you may need a few packs. I would add them to a vase and use at your key decor points (dessert table, food table, gift table, dining table). If you’re feeling crafty, you could even use these palm fronds or fresh ones to create a palm backdrop to go behind the cake table.

Pink Dinosaur Piñata

This pink dinosaur piñata doubles as decor and an activity. Display it on a table as part of the decorations until it’s time to bust it open and see what’s inside.

Tan Linen Tablecloth

Since all of the decor and accents for this party are bright and colorful, I would keep the tablecloth simple. I love this tan linen option because it reminds me of the grounds the dinosaurs roamed. Plus, it can be used for various other occasions throughout the year.

Dinosaur Birthday Party Activities

There are always two routes you can go with activities and entertainment for a birthday party - themed or not. I usually like to do a combination of both. Some of my go-tos for non-themed activities and entertainment include bounce houses, inflatable water slides (depending on season and age), balloon artists, face painting, or musicians.

Themed activities are where the creativity lies. For a dinosaur themed party, here are two ideas for activities that can be scaled or adjusted based on space and age.

Dinosaur Egg Hunt

I love this activity because it’s easy to put together and is good for a wide range of ages. All you have to do is fill plastic eggs, hide them and send your guests on a hunt. You can fill theme with little dinosaurs and candy. Depending on the ages of your guests would determine how difficult the hunt is. This can also double as a party favor by personalizing a tote or bag for your guests to use to collect their eggs. I love these dinosaur totes from Etsy!

Dinosaur Fossil Dig

Depending on the amount of space you have available, you can set this up inside or out. One option is to fill a plastic pool with sand or you could fill an under-bed plastic storage container with sand. If you want to make this activity individual, you could also use plastic shoe bins. No matter the container you use, the idea is the same. You will bury bones, little eggs, and dinosaurs for kids to excavate. If doing this, I love to give kids a safari hat to make them feel like a real archeologist.

For this activity, you’ll need the following supplies:
